Autonomous Apothecary is a collective, grassroots effort to distribute plant based medicines free of charge. We operate from a mutual aid perspective of solidarity, not charity. We approach our work autonomously through individual contributions of materials, labor, and funds to support communities and individuals.

Rooted in Wabanaki territory (so called Maine), we are an all volunteer collaboration of herbalists, farmers, and organizers who believe that plant medicines have a critical role to play in our collective ability to survive and thrive during late stage capitalism. 

We believe that mutual aid combined with a reverent connection to the natural world that sustains all life is how we can co-cultivate a new world inside the shell of the old.
